  • De-addiction cum rehabilitation centres to come up in Punjab

The Central government will start 26 de-addiction cum rehabilitation centres across Punjab to curb the menace of drug abuse.

The first type such centre will start from Hoshiarpur on June 26 on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The people of Punjab especially youths have fallen in the trap of drug abuse and this initiative is to bring them back to mainstream.

  • FSSAI orders recall of four protein supplements

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has ordered recall of four protein supplements — Mulmin Pro, Mulmin Syrup, Mulmin Plus Capsule and Mulmin Drops with immediate effect.

This decision has been taken on the basis of recommendations made by the scientific panel for functional foods, nutraceuticals, dietic products and other similar products.

India’s first diesel electric multiple unit (DEMU) rail service will run on Angamaly-Ernakulam-Tripunithura-Piravomroute with an air-conditioned coach was flagged off in Kochi. The AC coach provides comfortable cushion seats for 73 passengers. The train is equipped with bio-toilets and with fully vestibule for free movement of passengers between coaches.

SoftBank, owns one of Japan’s biggest mobile carriers and has the largest shareholder in Chinese e-commerce firm Alibaba. Softbank will invest $10 billion in India over time, to take the lead and responsibility to make 20 GW as a minimum commitment in the solar space in India.

Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar was crowned as the new Maharaja of of Mysuru (Mysore) royal family. He is the 23-year old grandson of Princess Gayathri Devi, who was the eldest daughter of the last Maharaja of Mysore, Sri Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar. The coronation was held at Mysuru’s famous Amba Vilas Palace, which was decked up for the occasion.
